<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I wouldn't put this film in the Horror genre. It pulls more Thriller if not just Drama or Suspense entirely. With a title that's so blunt, the events that occur are less than surprising. Sure, there are some scenes that threw me off track... but for the most part, it became monotonous and predictable. I'll just say this; I saw the ending coming about 20 minutes before it actually came. </span></div>

<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When I first heard about this movie, I immediately thought about the Oculus Rift horror games I've grown to love. However, the story line didn't exactly pull me in. I only rented the film for one reason; and one reason only, based upon a semi-positive recommendation that stuck to me a few weeks back. Thank goodness for online bloggers! </span><br />
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Oculus gave me plenty to thrive on while it was lacking my dearly beloved gore. Each questioning scene made me think up what could happen next and threw surprise after surprise. I really enjoy a movie that makes me think, but one that tops my assumptions will steal my heart. In my personal experience, I never saw the ending coming. I was waiting for the screen to take over and return me back to the red box kiosk as if none of it had happened.* </span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Overall, I would definitely pass this recommendation on. I really enjoyed this movie and will most likely purchase it in the future. It was perfect for my fellow viewers who dislike the usual torture porn I pick out, but at the same time it gave plenty of jumps and eerie confusion. If you're not into psychological thrillers, this may not be up your alley.</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">He's back. Possibly one of my favorite villains has come back to us with the same old sense of sarcasm and a heaping side of crazy to match.</span><br />
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It wasn't too long ago that I even found out there was going to be a sequel and all I wanted was the same actor to play the infamous Mick Taylor. This film gave me that and then some. We get a hyped up sfx budget in this film along with the signature spinal cord separations. </span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Besides the higher expenses, this sequel offers many more deaths and a deep, twisted look into Mick's true intentions. At one point, I felt super uneasy. I could only describe it as the way I felt during the family supper scene from Texas Chainsaw.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">All in all, it was worth my “Watch While It's In Theaters” rental and I would recommend it indefinitely. This is a great extension if you've seen the first film and explains the plot if you're new to the outback horror altogether. </span></div>

<div>
“Three. Three people. Three people. Three people are dead. I killed them.”<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We start this movie off with some generic ‘let's make this film seem like it actually happened’ text, followed by a bloody crime scene walk through. I immediately flashed back to 2003’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After what seems like one of the most infamous movie openings of it's year, we learn that our journey begins with a daughter who is on the hunt. 20 years after her mom kills 3 people during an exorcism, she is determined to find out the truth about what happened. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Like many of the demonic and/or paranormal movies made today, this film relied on the rapid volume increases for a scare factor. You see very little gore in this movie, and what you see isn't too well done. After being let down with the blood and gore, I was happy to see some sweet contorting that always gets me cringing.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
The only thing I will take from this movie is the way people went about exorcisms and possession. They brought in the idea of educating people who plan to become exorcists. Not only was that unique to me, but they also focused on a specific process to determine possession from mental illness.<br />
<br />
Although I did see the ending coming, I would like to explain that this next part could be considered as a spoiler. Here is your alert. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
By now, everyone and their children have seen movies portraying possession. This film put Demonic Transference on the burner and I honestly cannot remember when I've seen that. Cursing someone, or having someone become possessed is one thing. Taking the idea that demons as well as souls have the ability to attach themselves from person to person was an eye opener.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I sometimes wonder how many movies I could watch in the time it takes me to find something to watch on Netflix. It's movies like The Tall Man that keep me interested in the subscription service.</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> I bookmarked this film when I came across it about a week ago, and just realized I never actually watched it. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I personally gain instant interest in a film when a favorite actor of mine is featured, and I love Jessica Biel. I love when she enters the dark side of film even more. As someone who grew up watching 7th Heaven, it's refreshing to see such a great actress be so versatile.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">The film takes place in an old, rundown town. Enter the <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">legend of the Tall Man, an entity who allegedly abducts children. I wasn't really sure what to think of this movie at first glance. Honestly, the first thing to cross my mind was Slender Man. </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: inherit;">The Tall Man is a movie that you need to experience for yourself. It's truly a piece of art and a must-see for anyone who enjoys a fantastic thriller. One thing I love so much about this creation is that it keeps you on the edge until the very last scene. I've recommended it, re-watched it and will most likely be looking for a copy on DVD. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Movies based upon killers are very touch and go, at least to me. </span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">It's either painfully on point or a poor portrayal of someone's version of the events. Dahmer is the latter. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I'm not a huge fan of <i>real</i> serial killer films. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the heck out of a nice babysitter slasher. When it comes to the tragic events of actual people, I get uncomfortable and it's tough to sit through. However, I do enjoy a good Jeremy Renner movie. Too bad this one wasn't good.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I see what they tried to do, but it turned poorly pieced together and jumped from one thing to the next. The actual description of the film makes my point very clear. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">"A<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> man turns his darkest fantasies into a horrifying reality." Sure, the movie portrays that, but for it to be called Dahmer? The dude's name could've been Frank for that matter. </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">If the title and character names were mixed up, it could be pulled off as just another bad script.</span></span></div>

It is absolutely mind blowing how intimate they have become, and I truly believe that <b>Stay Alive</b> was a little before it's time.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-XlM-EKbb2_wBnjk7PpLrJuXh_M-p79LesJc_TSAmsHt9CSFQzZ_0ToWYMpQN-S1KoWtMYgMdbECK9Wv405IpqaTvru_MHK78sM8wPcwAThCNbAjaqZsGH_pD5kl6fLINjjeDeOJVoF4/s640/blogger-image-2028770036.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="355" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-XlM-EKbb2_wBnjk7PpLrJuXh_M-p79LesJc_TSAmsHt9CSFQzZ_0ToWYMpQN-S1KoWtMYgMdbECK9Wv405IpqaTvru_MHK78sM8wPcwAThCNbAjaqZsGH_pD5kl6fLINjjeDeOJVoF4/s640/blogger-image-2028770036.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div>
Once a terrifyingly morbid game gets into the wrong hands, a group of unsuspecting friends play into a sadistic prayer of Elizabeth Báthory, the infamous blood countess in the late 1500s. What seems to be a terrifying thrill soon shows it's true colors as the group is picked off one by one, as they died in the game. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was drawn to this film for many different reasons. Besides the fact that I am infatuated with morbid history & have been a gamer since pull-ups, the cast lineup is a great one. We have the lovely Jimmi Simpson, (Rose Red) the very talented Sophia Bush, (Chicago P.D, One Tree Hill) and many more faces I know and love. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
While a cast <i>can</i> make or break a film, that's not the only thing this one has going for it. This movie actually instilled fear in me. When I look at the horror genre these days, most things come as a disappointment. It wasn't over the top with gore, it wasn't a pop culture infused remake, it was creepy. It's a movie that burns into your brain and continues to haunt you when you close your eyes at night. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To this day, I wait for the gaming world to become one with Stay Alive. If this does ever complete, I hope to enjoy it as much as I do the film. </div>
